How We Work Across the North West
Keeping our catchment within 30 miles of our South Manchester hub means our diggers, tipper trucks, and compactors are on site early without cutting corners on preparation. North West plots very often sit on heavy, moisture-retentive clay subsoil. If you lay stone or blocks over poorly prepared clay, winter frosts and vehicle weight will soon cause ruts and puddles.
On every driveway job we excavate down to 200mm–250mm, line the trench with heavy-duty geotextile membrane to stop the sub-base migrating into soft earth, and build up uniform layers of MOT Type 1 hardcore compacted with heavy mechanical plate compactors. Most residential driveways and patios take between 3 and 7 working days from initial dig-out to the final sweep-down.
Planned Installations & Site Care
We operate strictly as a planned project contractor rather than an emergency call-out outfit. That allows us to schedule grab lorries or skips properly, lay protective boards over lawns and paths, use water suppression when disc-cutting pavers, and clear all spoil legally as a registered waste carrier.
Driveway Installations
Block paving laid in tight herringbone patterns on screeded sharp sand, heavy-duty tarmac driveways, and UV-stable resin-bound surfacing over permeable bases. All front drives are set out to comply with SuDS drainage rules using linear ACO channels or compliant soakaways.
Patios & Pathways
Indian sandstone and natural stone flags bedded onto full wet mortar mixes with SBR bonding primer so slabs never rock or lift. Set to accurate falls so rainwater clears away from your house damp-proof course.
Paving Repairs & Drainage
Lifting sunken wheel tracks, rebuilding collapsed Type 1 sub-bases, re-haunching loose kerb edges in concrete, and installing recessed inspection covers and linear drainage channels to cure standing water.
Walls, Fencing & Gardens
Double-skin retaining walls on concrete footings for sloping plots, feather edge and panel timber fencing with concrete posts and gravel boards, plus natural turfing and artificial grass makeovers.
